Updated Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (after Week 8). All 14 games included, Monday night too.

Rating combines two opponent-adjusted measures: net EPA per play (expected points added) and net success rate, the share of plays that keep an offense on schedule. Both are offense minus defense, adjusted for the opponents a team has played, with plays after a game was already decided thrown out. Every game counts, and one that was mostly garbage time counts for less. Zero is league average: San Francisco at +0.226 rates best, the Los Angeles Chargers at −0.249 worst.

Off and Def rank each side of the ball from 1 to 32 by EPA per play, 1 being the best. Click a team for the numbers behind it.

Arrows show movement from last week's board.

Exactly how the rating is built is ours. Eight weeks is still a small sample, so expect movement.

These rankings reflect what the numbers say about how each QB has actually played in the games measured so far this season — not career value, draft stock, or who's the better long-term quarterback. Small sample size, will shift as the season goes on.

Updated November 3, 2026 (after Week 8), including Monday Night Football — updated Oct. 27, 2026.

The grade is built from this season's play-by-play. Every dropback outside garbage time is measured three ways: whether the play actually helped the team score, how accurate the throw was for its difficulty, and whether it kept the offense on schedule. Efficiency carries most of the weight, accuracy and consistency the rest. Every dropback is adjusted for the defense it came against, so a quarterback who faced tough defenses gains points and one who faced soft defenses loses them. The arrows show the move from each quarterback's rank after Week 6. Quarterbacks with few dropbacks are pulled toward league average in proportion to how little they have thrown, which is why one good half does not make a number one. A game with fewer than 8 graded dropbacks is not counted, and backups come off the board once the starter is back.

Zero is league average. Tiers are buckets of the grade, nothing more: S is 35 and up, A is 15 to 34, B is 0 to 14, C is −1 to −15, and D is below −15. The grade is not a real unit like yards or points, so the gap between two quarterbacks says more than either number on its own.

Through Week 8 — updated Nov. 3, 2026. All 14 games included, Monday night too.

Rating is expected points allowed per 100 plays compared with an average defense, adjusted for the offenses each defense has faced, with plays after a game was already decided thrown out. Negative is better: Tampa Bay at −14.7 gives up about 15 fewer points per 100 plays than an average defense would against the same offenses.

Pass and Run rank the same number split by play type, 1 being the best. Click a team for blitz rate, sack rate, explosive plays allowed, third downs, takeaways and the offenses it faced.

Exactly how the rating is built is ours. Eight games is still a small sample, so expect movement.

Through Week 8 — updated Nov. 4, 2026. All 14 games included, Monday night too.

Rating is points added per game by a team's special teams compared with an average NFL unit, so plus is better and zero is average. Every kick, punt and return is compared with what an average team gets in the same spot, and kickoffs, kick returns, punts and punt returns are adjusted for the unit on the other side. Minnesota at +3.48 adds about three and a half points a game; the Rams at −3.67 give up about that much.

Kicking ranks field goals plus extra points, Returns ranks kick plus punt returns, and Punting ranks the punt unit, 1 being the best. Click a team for every unit's points and the kicking, kickoff, return and punting numbers behind them.

Exactly how the rating is built is ours. Special teams swing on a handful of plays, so expect movement.
